Lawyer Monyca Motta is a reference in Entertainment Law, combining expertise and passion for the field. She has extensive experience in contracts, copyright, and rights clearance for advertising, audiovisual, and cultural projects in general. She has also provided legal advice to major music festivals such as Tomorrowland Brazil and Afropunk, and she serves as Legal Consultant for SIM São Paulo, the largest music conference in Latin America. Her background includes a law degree and a merit master’s in Entertainment Law in the UK, obtained through a Chevening scholarship at the University of Westminster in London, where she is now part of the alumni group mentoring new students at that institution.
She has been an accredited expert by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture in copyright and technology and served as Coordinator of Creative Economy in the city of Salvador, Bahia. Monyca has taught in the Entertainment Law course at UERJ and in the postgraduate programme on Creative Economy and Creative Cities at FGV/SP, as well as in the Entertainment Law course and Summer Courses on Intellectual Property in the European Union at Nova University of Lisbon. Her career also includes work at prominent law firms in Brazil, Portugal, and the UK.
Currently, in addition to serving clients in Brazil and Europe, Monyca is pursuing a PhD at Nova University of Lisbon and is part of the Advisory Board of the European project FairMuse, which seeks greater transparency and fair remuneration for artists on digital platforms. She shares her knowledge as a mentor and speaker in education and entertainment initiatives around the world.
