ALAI is a DJ, producer and electronic artist from Tolosa, Basque Country. Her style is based on merengue, R&B and reggae, which she grew up listening to, always with broken rhythms like jungle, breakbeat and UK garage. She has a clear mission: to make her favorite musical genres have a place in the club scene. At the end of 2021, she published her first studio album called OZEN, based on conversations recorded with her friends. With this, she created a conceptual album about the female experience through synthesizers traveling from darkness to ecstasy. In 2022, she published her first work specifically dedicated to club music in an EP called BARE. This 2024 she has returned with the release of her EP YUCA, her most personal work to date, combining her electronic references with all the Caribbean music she grew up listening to from her Venezuelan mother. She explores her childhood, her memories of her mother’s country and the club culture that she feels at home.
