Raquel Banha is 27 years old, hails from Lisbon, and considers herself an “artivist.” From the fusion of her writing art and activism, the blog Chairleader was born. Raquel uses her platform to break taboos, discussing everything from the rights of people with disabilities to culture, mental health, and sexuality. A feminist and strong ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, she is a member of the Independent Living Centre Association and in 2024, she was a co-organiser of the largest independent living march ever held in Portugal. Born into a family of artists, she developed a huge passion for the world of performance from an early age and is a regular attendee of music festivals and concerts. She believes in the power of stories and people, and hopes to continue using her words to educate and raise awareness in society.
