Maria de Assis Swinnerton (PT)
Graduated in History and with a postgraduate degree in Arts Management, she has a diverse background ranging from journalism and essay writing to programming consultancy, including curating projects that intersect arts and education. She served as Assistant Director of ACARTE/FCG from 1995 to 2003, Vice-President of the Institute of the Arts from 2003 to 2005, and programming consultant for Teatro Viriato from 1996 to 2021. She directed DECOBRIR – Gulbenkian Education for Culture and Science Programme from 2013 to 2017 and DESCOLA, a programme of creative activities for students and teachers in the Municipality of Lisbon, from 2017 to 2022. She is currently the Chair of the Advisory Board of the National Arts Plan (since 2019) and Deputy Director of the Gulbenkian Culture Programme. She was also President of the Board of Companhia Maior from 2016 to 2020.
