Michele Bee is co-founder of the cultural centre Manifatture Knos, established in Lecce in 2007. He is Visiting Associate Professor at the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais. From 2011 to 2021 he taught at the University of Lausanne in the field of economic philosophy and history of political though. In 2012 he promoted with Gilles Clément the annual workshops ‘Incontri del terzo luogo’ to give political dignity to indecision and spontaneous actions on public spaces. From 2015 to 2018 he was chairperson of the European network of cultural centres Trans Europe Halles (TEH), to which he is now the delegate of the Italian network Lo Stato dei Luoghi. He promotes urban transformation projects in Italy, France and Switzerland together with the collective La scuola del terzo luogo. He has written on various topics of economic and political thought, and is the author of ‘Commons as Third Places’ recently published by TEH.
