
Ariel Palitz (US)
Ariel Palitz, was appointed as the first-ever Executive Director of New York City’s Office of Nightlife at the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment in March of 2018. As lifelong New Yorker Ariel Palitz came to the role with deep experience in both nightlife and community building. Ariel was a promoter for many years before opening her own club Sutra Lounge in the East Village for ten years, while simultaneously serving on local Community Board for 7 years and consulting for 2. Ariel served under Mayor De Blasio from 2018-2021 and now under Mayor Adams since January 2021 until the present. The New York City’s Office of Nightlife serves as a non-enforcement central point of contact between the nightlife industry, community, and City agencies. It works to uplift nightlife and hospitality’s contributions to New York’s economy and culture by coordinating City services and resources and created programs while amplifying the needs and concerns of the industry to the seat of government where decisions are made. The office provides problem solving and support for individual venues while creating systemic city-wide por-active solutions that address the daily challenges of running a business at night. The Office if Nightlife in NYC is dedicated to ensuring a more vibrant, viable, safe, and fair nightlife that works for all New Yorkers and visitors from around the world.
