Elisabete Santa-Bárbara
Elisabete Santa-Bárbara is the representative of the Africandé association that will take part in the conversation CULTURE OF RESISTANCE AND CULTURAL RESISTANCE.
This association was born out of the desire of the family, friends and colleagues of Bruno Candé, who was murdered on July 25, 2020 for racist reasons, to keep his memory alive, as well as to raise awareness in the local community of the importance of human rights in the fight for a less discriminatory society.
We intend to work with the different age groups in the community, creating intergenerational and cultural bridges between the different groups that make up Bairro do Condado. But also to work towards building a more enlightened, fairer and more cohesive world. Our cause is to transform the values and practices of the Bairro do Condado community and the city of Lisbon through art and culture, keeping Bruno Candé’s memory alive and following his life example.
