Following on from the conversation organized by FONTE at MIL 2023, entitled “Mobilizing Countercolonial Heritages Today”, the Associação de Intervenção e Difusão Cultural invites producer, composer, singer and sound designer XEXA to present a case study and workshop at this edition of the Convention. This workshop explores ways of materializing counter-colonial creative practices and processes in the current climatic context. Integrated into the international contemporary scene, XEXA brings an innovative and reflective approach to this workshop.
Objective:
Together, (un)engage strategies to integrate counter-colonial practices and processes of creation, adapting them to contemporary climatic challenges and contexts.
XEXA is known for challenging expectations in formats, sonorities and visualities, exploring cosmological, socio-cultural and political themes of memory, and is firmly integrated into the international contemporary scene.
