RECLAIMING THE CITY
The inhabitants of a city should have the right and the ability to influence and shape the urban space in which they live. Reclaiming the city means fighting against gentrification, demanding public spaces, promoting fair housing policies, and creating infrastructure that meets the needs of all citizens, not just a select few. A city as a cultural space is a primary necessity—one that integrates places dedicated to artistic expression, knowledge exchange, and the strengthening of community identity. Reclaiming the city of Lisbon is essential. Reclaiming the city is an act of active citizenship that we aim to promote and discuss from different perspectives.
