EXPLORING MOROCCO’S LOCAL SCENE. CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES

Friday, 27 September14h00 - 15h00Sala Confeitaria CONVERSA / TALKTalk

Which music markets are strategic for Portugal? What are the roles of the connections with Brazil, Spain and North Africa? As the second closest country to Portugal, Morocco occupies a unique position in this network of cultural connections. The Arab influence on the Iberian Peninsula, the result of almost 800 years of Muslim presence, has left deep marks on the history and identity of Portugal and Spain – visible in the language, architecture and cultural traditions.

At MIL, we want to bring about a rapprochement between these territories. In this conversation, we’re going to show you the local music scene in Morocco, through the voices of local actors, and present some ongoing cultural exchange projects.
