Nightlife is an integral part of the identity of many urban communities, offering an important combination of social, cultural and recreational activities. However, these environments can also present significant risks, such as the use of alcohol and other drugs, violence and mental health crises. The effective implementation of harm reduction strategies in these contexts is crucial, but the path is complex.

In this talk, we’ll focus on the priorities for harm reduction in urban nightlife, addressing the challenges and coming up with innovative community-based responses. We’ll look at how to better support people in these contexts, ensuring their safety and well-being, while respecting their autonomy and right to leisure.

The aim is to identify practical and effective harm reduction approaches that can be adapted to the dynamic landscape of urban nightlife. Together, we will discover how mindfulness can be the basis for creating safer, transformative and supportive nightlife spaces.
