Quelle Dead Gazelle (PT)

Between Serengeti, Chicago and Lisbon there is a huge plain.

Wide, with a horizon as far as the eye can see.

A gazelle runs on this plain.

Lisboa knows how to mix and in the head of guitarist Pedro Ferreira and drummer Miguel Abelaira, he put the syncopated cadences of African rhythms to meet the sounds of deconstruction that the post-rock adventure offered to future generations. About the gap where these two tectonic plates are found, past and future, skins and electricity, the two musicians started in 2012 to play and exchange ideas. In the same year they released the single “Afrobrita”.

The Quelle Dead Gazelle start running like this and have yet to show signs of shortness of breath.

In 2013 the first EP recorded and produced by Makoto Yagyu and Fábio Jevelim, takes them to the stages of NOS Alive, Milhões de Festa, Paredes de Coura and Serralves em Festa.

With more than 50 concerts given, they reach the end of 2015 with headquarters. Be sure to raise the bar on a new album and show it live. “Maus Lençóis” is the band’s first long-term and records the reunion of the musicians Ferreira-Abelaira with the producers duo Yagyu-Jevelim this time at the HAUS studio. The new album brings the density of the vocabulary that “Afrobrita” started and shows the “gazelle” in control, strength and grace. Quelle Dead Gazelle launches “Maus Lençóis” in May and in May it launches on the road, because the plain where they run still has a lot to map.
