Emilia y Pablo (SP)
Chilean duo based in Madrid that combines their experience in the performing arts with a unique blend of Latin American folklore and flamenco. They champion folklore as a universal language that allows for the exploration of different influences, whether from Latin American sounds or flamenco culture. According to Fernando Neira for El País: “the new great promise of song in Madrid thanks to their intimate mix of Andean folklore and flamenco airs.” After the warm reception of their first album, “Territorio de Delirio,” Emilia and Pablo present their second work, “Isla Virtuosa,” produced by Maestro Espada (an experimental folklore duo from Murcia who perform live with Guitarricadelafuente) and released by Madame Vodevil. This new album serves as an artistic bridge between the band’s identity and new sounds, nuances, and musical colors that establish Emilia and Pablo as one of the most interesting and representative projects of the new folklore in Spain and Latin America. In June 2021, their first album “Territorio de Delirio” was released, produced by Diego Galaz and edited by Madame Vodevil. Among other media lists, it is worth noting that the specialized magazine Mondosonoro rated this album as the third-best national album of 2021 in the World Music category. In February 2022, they premiered the show Territorios de Delirio, commissioned for the International Festival of Sacred Art of Madrid at the Teatros del Canal, selling out tickets.
