Andreia Salavessa (PT)
Born in Lisbon in 1977, she graduated in Design (specialization in Interior Design) from the Instituto de Artes Visuais, Design e Marketing (IADE) in 1998 and in Architecture from the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa in 2004. She attended the 3rd year of the Architecture degree at the Politecnico di Milano under the Socrates/Erasmus Program and, between 1993 and 1996, attended the Drawing course at the Centro de Artes e Comunicação Visual Ar.Co. She co-supervised the VIII Summer Seminar of Architecture and Urbanism at the Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa in the group led by Francisco Mangado. She was an invited jury member for the 5th-year exam at the Faculty of Architecture of the Technical University of Lisbon (2006) and a visiting critic at Ryerson University in Toronto (2010). She has participated in several educational projects in the fields of Architecture and Citizenship, involving various primary schools. Drawing has been a constant throughout her journey. She has also exhibited in several group and solo exhibitions of Painting, Drawing, and Illustration. In 2021, she illustrated the ‘Manual of Recommendations for a Healthy and Safe Lifestyle’ published by the Directorate-General of Health. She founded ateliermob (2006), was a founding member of Largo Residências (2011), and of the cooperative ‘working with the 99%’ (2016). Since 2021, she has been developing educational projects in the fields of Drawing, Illustration, and Visual Arts, as a resident artist at the Cooperativa SOU LARGO.
