Ana Estevens (PT)
Ana Estevens. Geographer. PhD in Human Geography, researcher at CICS.NOVA FCSH at Universidade Nova de Lisboa. She has been researching the complexity of the social relations that are established in the contemporary city, dealing more specifically with the concepts of conflict and artistic practices and creation. She has written several scientific articles and book chapters and participated in various research projects, maintaining a close link between research and civil society. She coordinated the Ágora project – Encounters between the City and the Arts: Exploring new urbanities. She is the author of the book “A cidade neoliberal. Conflict and art in Lisbon and Barcelona” and co-edited the book ”Atlas of Real Utopias. Creativity, culture and the arts”. In recent years, she has dedicated herself to reflecting on the way the city is produced in contemporary times, which has brought her closer to the work developed at c.e.m. – centro em movimento and led her to develop/share research/documentation/creation ideas by integrating Pedras-práticas teams with people and places in Lisbon, developing study groups within the regular programming. With Sofia Neuparth, she has been coordinating the research seminars CRIAR CORPO CRIAR CIDADE (https://criarcorpocriarcidade.com) since 2017. She is co-founder of the Cooperativa Criar Cidade and co-coordinates the Red Iberoamericana de Conflictos Urbanos.
