Mário Carneiro (PT)
Mário Carneiro has been the General Director of GDA Foundation since November 2015. He was Deputy in the Office of the State Secretary for Culture, in the XIX Constitutional Government, having also held the position of Vice President of AMEC | Metropolitana (Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra). Between 2003 and 2012, he served as Vice-President and member of the Board of Experimenta Association and was the Executive Director of the experimentadesign biennial.
For 14 years, Mário Carneiro has occupied several positions in the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, namely as Assistant Director in the Fine Arts Service, as responsible for the Theater sector, and Deputy Director of the Modern Art Center, where he was responsible for ACARTE and worked as arts programmer.
At Parque Expo, he was the co-author and general coordinator of the multimedia show Acquamatrix, presented during the Expo 98. He was an actor and producer, created PRÓ-TEA – Ação Pró Teatro e Artes (Action Pro Theater and Arts) and taught at ESAD, in Caldas da Rainha, several classes from the 1st to the 4th year, in the courses of Cultural Animation, Theater and Design.
