Mar Rojo (ES)
Mar Rojo (Madrid, 1982) is the current programmer at one of the main independent clubs in Madrid, sala El Sol. Before joining the team at sala El Sol, she was the head of artistic direction at the Moby Dick Club in Madrid. Holding a PhD in Audiovisual Communication, she is part of the board at MIM (Mujeres de la Industria de la Música), the leading women organization in the music industry in Spain. Mar started her career working between productions in Rome and Madrid, and with a deep passion for event creation, she founded the concert promoter La Estanquera Presenta S.L. She continues developing her career with collaborations in festivals like Primavera Sound or Tomavistas Festival, in addition to being the production director in the Sound Isidro festival, she also participates in the production of the music series Veranos de la Villa and other public initiatives. During this past year she has taken part in several masterclasses in the BIME Campus, IED, Casa Encendida and Music Industry master’s degrees in both Carlos III University and Campus Las Musas, as well as creating a free online course on production and music industry, The Rider Sessions.
