José Augusto Pereira is a PhD student in History at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Nova University of Lisbon. His studies revolve around colonialism and national liberation movements in Africa during the 20th century, with a focus on Cape Verde and Guinea-Bissau. He has dedicated his attention to these topics and has published works on them. More recently, he has been researching anti-racist black movement organizations in Portugal during the first half of the 20th century.
