Isilda Sanches (PT)
Isilda Sanches is a music journalist and radio host. She started writing about music at the end of the 80’s and began her radio career soon after, in 1994, at XFM, the now mythical radio station. It introduced Portuguese listeners to contemporary dance music and its influence was felt well beyond the 3 years it lasted. Since then Isilda has continued writing in newspapers and magazines and hosting radio shows. She coordinated Radio Oxigenio for 16 years, always very close to everything that happened both nationally and internationally in the electronic/dance/hip hop scene with all its nuances. In 2015 she joined national radio Antena 3. She’s on air from Monday to Thursday with Pontos de Luz (9 to 10 p.m.), a show with new and old music, guests, and special features on cinema, experimental and socially conscious music. She also hosts Muitos Mundos (Many Worlds), on Antena 3 Friday to Saturday nights (00 to 02 am), and À Volta do Groove, a Disco/Boogie show, every Saturday afternoon (7pm, Antena 1). She is also interested in science related subjects and has a daily mini podcast called Fricção Cientifica (Science Friction).
