
Iñigo Sánchez-Fuarros (ES)
Iñigo Sánchez-Fuarros is a senior researcher at the Institute of Heritage Sciences (Incipit-CSIC) in Santiago de Compostela (Spain). His academic career has focused on the study of music and sound cultures in urban settings, combining anthropological and musicological approaches. Most recently, he has been investigating the role of sound and music in urban renewal projects, with a particular focus on gentrification, turistification and heritagization processes. He is the Principal Investigator of several research projects: “Sounds of Tourism” (funded by the Portuguese Research Council – FCT), “Caring for Heritage: Dwelling and Managing Intangible Heritage at the Local Level in Times of Crisis” (funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation), and “PALCOS: Change, material culture and festivities in Galicia” (funded by GAIN-Xunta de Galicia).
