Inez Aires (PT)
Inez graduated from Environmental Engineering, followed with a Masters on Bioclimatic Strategies and Application of Renewable Energy Sources in Eco Villages Complexes and completed the Executive Creative Leadership program by THNK. She lived in the Peruvian Amazon where worked with the NGO ANIA in “Sustainability in Children’s Lands”, collaborated in the Manual “Tierra de Niños” and was a volunteer with indigenous communities in the Amazon Rainforest. Upon return to Portugal, Inez was a Researcher Assistant in Research Group on Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development in the Department of Mechanical Eng of IST UTL in Projects for the EU headed by member of the European Parliament Prof. Maria da Graça Carvalho; she was Project Officer with Terrasystemics; and also Project Consultant at SDC, Consulting on Sustainable Development. She collaborated in projects of sustainable construction with the teacher and architect Pedro Ressano Garcia and was the recipient of a Merit Award in the International Competition for New Taipei City Museum of Art Proposal with OODA Architects. Inez worked since 2002 in many annual, biannual, national and international festivals and sports-related events such as . While living in Mexico she was Events, Spa and Studio Director at Ahau Tulum. At the moment, Inez collaborates with Good Mood, Boom Festival and Balance in Event Sustainability and Regeneration, and is Co-Founder of Zero Waste Lab Portugal, a non-profit association that blossomed from the idea of creating a Hub and a Lab that collaborate, in order to mobilize society towards a change of behavior in creating and managing waste, through actively involving people in researching and testing new ways to intervene on waste, accessible to all.
