Frank Kimenai (NL)

Frank Kimenai is an independent consultant, researcher and cultural professional, specialized in the creative industry in general and popular music in particular. Frank started his career as a musician and organizer of DIY punk- and metalshows, became a promoter in one of the biggest music venues of the Netherlands, co-founded the Incubate festival and several companies like his own international booking and management agency. He holds a masters degree in ecology, which trained him in system analysis. He is currently combining his knowledge of ecological principles with his music sector experience as a PhD researcher, studying the resilience of music ecosystems. Frank operates from Amsterdam, and is involved in both European and national projects. On a European level, he consults the music sector about European funding and he is involved as an expert in the development of Music Moves Europe, the European Commission’s initiative to support the European music sector. On a national level, Frank participates in numerous projects, varying from festival management to helping emerging musicians with their careers. Frank feels most at home at the intersection of economy, culture, policy and the social domain. He likes Excel sheets and listens to Black Flag.Frank
