
António Pedro Lopes (PT)
António Pedro Lopes works as an artist, cultural programmer, curator and artistic director. He has a degree in Theater from the University of Évora, a diploma in choreography from Forum Dança and is currently attending a postgraduate program in Arts Management and Sustainability at the University of Coimbra, and an MBA in Arts Innovation at the Global Leaders Institute in Washington DC. In recent years, he was the artistic director of Ponta Delgada’s bid for European Capital of Culture – Azores 2027 and co-founded and co-directed several projects: MAPAS, a mobile cultural center (Leiria, 2020), in collaboration with Gui Garrido; Fabric Arts Festival (Fall River, USA, 2019-2021), in collaboration with Jesse James, Sofia Botelho and Michael Benevides; and Tremor Festival (São Miguel, Azores, 2014-) in collaboration with Yuzin and Lovers&Lollypops. As a dance and theater artist, he has participated in dozens of shows, workshops, art residencies and conferences across the country and internationally, collaborating with Jérôme Bel, João Fiadeiro, Marco Berrettini, Raquel André, Gustavo Ciríaco, among others. Antonio works with artists, institutions and festivals as a dramaturg, creative and communication consultant, serves as a jury in artistic project applications, writes for publications and artistic processes, and regularly participates in conversations about music, artistic practices and the implementation of cultural policies. He is driven by affection, community building, collaboration, experimentation, and making space for the other.
