Ana João is part of the national Board of the biggest LGBTI Youth NGO in Portugal, rede ex aequo. Ana João started working locally in NGOs in 2014, having then progressed to the international level, working mainly on Human Resources policies and strategy. AJ is a member of the Board since 2021 and currently focuses on HR, external relations, local community building, trainings and the two main projects of the NGO, Projeto Educação LGBTI and Núcleos ex aequo, both in the islands and the continent.
