Portugal Muito Maior welcomed national artists at SIM São Paulo
The rising Portuguese participation in this Brazilian showcase festival is the result of the strategic partnership between MIL and SIM established since 2017 and, from this year on, is supported by Portugal Muito Maior.
On December 5th, Portugal Much Maior welcomed the Portuguese artists at SIM São Paulo in a networking cocktail. In the late afternoon, the Jardim Suspenso of the Centro Cultural de São Paulo hosted performances by Fado Bicha, PAUS and Blu Samu.
António Miguel Guimarães (AMG / Portugal Muito Maior) confirms the success of this action, which opened doors for the future. According to António Miguel Guimarães, “Brazil is increasingly becoming a natural music market, presenting deep relations with the community of Portuguese origin. This is one of the most important ties for music because they have huge repercussions both for the Portuguese artists’ activity and the resident Portuguese communities.”
Regarding the present presence of Portuguese music in Brazil, he considers it “very significant and varied from the stylistic point of view with António Zambujo, Carminho, Cátia Guerreiro, Ana Moura, Legendary Tigerman, Mario Laginha, Maria João, Maria João Pires, PAUS, Fado Bicha, Lavoisier, Throes and the Shine, Tiago Nacarato, Salvador and Luísa Sobral and many others who already perform between 150 and 200 concerts every year. ” This presence is “of enormous importance for the affirmation of Portuguese music and for potentiating closer ties with the already resident community – which meets one of the goals of Portugal Muito Maior”, reinforcing the importance of deepening the relationship with Brazil, MIL and SIM São Paulo.
