Sónia Trópicos is the musical heteronym of Sónia Margarido, born on the day of the Carnation Revolution in 1991 and raised in the South Bank. With a path of creative exploration that has included design, illustration and ceramics, it was in 2020 that she began producing music. Her first steps were taken with the group Beats By Girlz, and from there she began to develop her themes and remixes using soundcloud as a launching platform. Her sound is based on hot rhythms, synths and creative sampling, with particular focus on Lusophone sounds. In 2022 she won the PULSAR contest, directed to female producers in electronic music, which allowed her to develop her first EP, “Astral Anormal” with release on June 17, 2022.
