KRIOL is the recent project created by Danilo Lopes (Fogo Fogo, Re¬llon and Orquestra Todos) with his cousin Renato Chantre (Kussondulola, Mercado Negro and Orquestra Cesária Évora) that come out with a promise: to reinvent the traditional music of Cape Verde! This heavy duo got together during the pandemic motivated by creating new sounds with the aim of bringing the best of the island to us! From Mazurkas, Valsas, Colá San Jon to Coladeras and Batukes… the concerts of Kriol are a journey through the sounds of the Atlantic, with a tropical psychedelia a quite typical from them, where the dance just happens!
