TRAINING :: Tools for the Internationalization of Artists

On September 10th and 11th, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., the training will take place through a free online training consisting of 6 modules that focus on different areas to consider in a plan for internationalization, organized by MIL:

1. Music distribution in international markets with Andras Bodrogi

The specialist in distribution and copyright management explains how to define a digital distribution strategy to get your music into new territories.

2. PR strategies for internationalization with Letícia Tiê

The communications consultant discusses strategies for building relationships with the media in territories of interest and how to create awareness of your music across borders.

3. International touring and live export with Hugo Ferreira

The manager and promoter with extensive experience in organizing international tours goes through all the steps involved in a live music export plan: defining music markets of interest, broadening the fan base in those territories, thinking about a tour, establishing a budget, etc.

4. Internationalization: what to know about visas and mobility with Mafalda Sebastião and Carlos Oliveira Fernandes

The cultural coordinator and the head of the Visa and Movement of Persons Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explain how bureaucratic issues related to taxes, social security and visas are resolved, in an attempt to deconstruct the administrative difficulties that are sometimes inherent in international mobility. 5. Presentation strategies at showcase festivals with Carina Sava

The artist manager shares how to maximize visibility at showcase festivals, reach the right people and secure internationalization opportunities.

6. Presentation of MIL’s networking tools, support and European projects for internationalization with Gonçalo Riscado and Guilherme Correia

Support for International Showcases GDA Foundation; Presentation of the Liveurope network; Presentation of partner showcase festivals: Monkey Week, MaMA Festival & Convention, SIM São Paulo; Presentation of MIL’s networking tools and activities.

In September 2023, MIL held the first edition of this training, with the aim of giving national artists and their teams the tools they need to start an international career.
